This journey begins with thorough evaluations to determine candidacy for the surgery, followed by comprehensive counseling to prepare families for what to expect before and after the procedure.
While surgery restores hearing, therapy builds speech — and access to certified specialists remains a major hurdle.
Certified speech and auditory-verbal therapists (AVT) are scarce, especially in smaller towns and cities, complicating post-implantation rehabilitation for children.
Families often have no choice but to stay in Delhi for 6 months to a year to access therapy, placing an overwhelming financial burden on them.
STF has created a 2-room furnished accommodation where parents can stay at minimal cost while their children undergo speech therapy at the Sankalp ENT & Cochlear Implant Centre. This initiative makes therapy accessible without financial strain.
Creating a comprehensive ecosystem for therapy, education, and holistic child development
We plan to establish a specialized center for 10–15 children, featuring the latest infrastructure for speech therapy and group activities.
We envision a living space for 10–12 families with shared kitchens and play areas, fostering community therapy and social interaction.
Our future center will integrate Speech Therapists, AVT Specialists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Behavioral Therapists, and Counsellors under one roof, addressing hearing loss and co-morbidities like ADHD, Autism, and Cerebral Palsy.
